WorldLink"Connecting Youth To Global Affairs"WorldLink first introduced in 1997 as a program of the World Affairs Council of San Diego, brings students and teachers unique learning opportunities by connecting them to events and special programs where they can meet leaders and experts exploring providing their points of view on historical, contemporary and emerging realities of our global community.WorldLink, now administered through the Shelia Marie Davis Grant at the University of San Diego, is committed to stimulating an appreciation of global citizenship and civic participation and responsibilities. Outreach to high school and middle school students, as well as their teachers and counselors, encourages an appreciation of education, personal involvement, and wise leadership as lifelong privileges. Believing that knowledge and civility thrive on diversity and information, WorldLink invites youth and educators in our region and beyond to put government and social studies, international affairs and world history into a living context. WorldLink is committed to creating opportunities for our future leaders and concerned citizens to be heard by, as well as listen to, today's leaders and policy makers. Interacting with ambassadors, diplomats, international leaders and regional experts, young people deepen their understanding of world issues ranging from global conflicts and human right issues to challenges of ecological integrity and economic justice. We encourage all involved in education to consider how you may be able to participate in the World Youth Education Program.
