Woman And Earth Global Eco-Network (WE)

Mission Statement -Since 1979:

WE began with the mission of giving Russian women and women from the former Soviet Union (FSU) a voice and an opportunity to access, to create and to restore to light "herstory" and the role of women in history as well as the need to welcome and embrace the feminine spirit for the benefit of all humanity and the planet.

WE began with the mission of establishing a global access and opportunity to access, create and restore to light herstory and to link that access between Russian/FSU women and women of the world for the benefit of all humanity and the planet.

WE recognizes that women's herstory remains closely tied with nature and the healthy sustenance of our planet and all its inhabitants and thus incorporates this tie-in as part of its mission by describing itself as an eco-network. Included in this aspect is the mission of incorporating women within the meaning of human rights as well as including women's participation in the determination of the meaning of sustainable development.

WE carries out this mission by acting as a direct link to Russia and as a global link by means of education, information and communication. Also, we do this by providing an opportunity for women's artistic and literary expression serves an important function of communication and education and is thus an important part of the mission of WE.

WE considers itself an east-west link with "east" and "west" meaning a connection between future and past and with "east" and "west" meaning its current centers of activity in Russia, United States of America, Turkey, etc. Our link is not, however, defined by physical boundaries, nor by economics.

WE is an independent, non-religious, non-governmental anti-discrimination global community. Woman and Earth Almanac, the continuation of Woman and Russia Almanac, which was the first free feminist publication produced by the first independent collective group of women in the former Soviet Union, is now produced by Woman and Earth Publishers part of Woman and Earth Global Eco-Network, and is an independent eco-feminist almanac in Russian and English which has no links with any political or religious group.
