BETTY WHITE'S TOMATO PUDDING
Ingredients:
- Boil together for five minutes:
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water pinch of salt
- 1 can tomato puree (#1 can - 1 1/3 cup)
- 11/2 cups fresh bread chunks
- 1/4 pound butter
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350º F.
- Put bread chunks in casserole dish. Melt butter and pour over bread. Cover this with tomato mixture.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until edges are brown.
This can be mixed ahead and re-heated.
Supposed to serve 6, but Betty White doubles the recipe and she says it always disappears.
Tasty dessert.
